2015 Spring Municipal Grants

Municipal Grants Totaling $40,000 Awarded

In this special limited spring grant round of the Buzzards Bay municipal minigrant program, grant was awarded to the Town of Mattapoisett

March 2015 Municipal Minigrant Solicitation

The Buzzards Bay NEP, through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ (EEA) Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM), made available $40,000 in federal funds as part of the Buzzards Bay municipal minigrant program. The funds, provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under our cooperative agreement, represent unspent money from last year’s grant. Because of reduced funding, and to compliment exclusions of the 2014 SNEP grants, the grant round was limited to wetland and habitat protection and restoration. The Buzzards Bay NEP posted a grant request for proposal solicitation as part of our municipal minigrant program on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ CommBuys.com system, (here is a pdf version of the solicitation). Applications were due by 4 PM, Monday, May 11, 2015. After submissions, the grant review committee met and made recommendations on the projects. Grant awards announcements are expected in June.
